Confederation Centre of the Arts and the PEI Legion Choir present a moving musical tribute in honour of Remembrance Day and the Legion’s 100th Anniversary

Charlottetown, PE — Music, memory, and gratitude will take centre stage this November as the Confederation Centre of the Arts partners with the Prince Edward Island Legion Choir to present Voices of Remembrance – A Choral Tribute to Legacy and Community.

This special concert will take place Saturday, November 8 at 2:00 p.m. in Memorial Hall at Confederation Centre of the Arts, offering Islanders a meaningful opportunity to reflect, remember, and celebrate the legacy of service and community that defines the Royal Canadian Legion’s centennial year.

Voices of Remembrance unites the Prince Edward Island Legion Choir, the Confederation Singers, and the Prince Edward Island Regimental Band (RCAC) in a rare and powerful collaboration. The concert honours both Remembrance Day and 100 years of the Royal Canadian Legion, featuring musical selections by Robert Buckley (This is My Home), Leo Marchildon (The Island Hymn), Oscar Peterson (Hymn to Freedom), and Leon Dubinsky (We Rise Again). These works will be interwoven with moving readings of poetry, letters, and personal stories that reflect the human experience of service and sacrifice.

The event will open with a ceremonial welcome: a Colour Party representing PEI Legion Branches will lay their banners to commence the program, joined by guests from the Canadian Dominion Command. Members of the PEI Air Cadets will also be present to greet and assist attendees.

Tickets are $25, available through the Confederation Centre Box Office or online at confederationcentre.com and PEILegionChoir.ca. Legion members and active or retired service members are eligible for a $20 discounted rate. Please contact the Box Office in person or by phone at 902-566-1267 to obtain this special rate. Seating is limited — early purchase is encouraged.

Following the concert, attendees are invited to a light lunch. Voices of Remembrance will be an afternoon to celebrate our love for country, pay tribute to our service people, and reflect together on the enduring values of courage, sacrifice, and unity.
