Ashley Peck, the Centre’s longtime Box Office Manager and Sales Analyst, has been a steady and dedicated presence for an incredible 23 years. Though she jokes that she rarely strays far from her desk, Ashley’s deep connection to the Centre shines through her work and her humour. She’s looking forward to exploring more of the building once the renovations are complete—and perhaps discovering a new favourite spot along the way.

One of Ashley’s favourite discoveries during her time at the Centre is a delightfully quirky bit of history tied to Anne of Green Gables – The Musical. While working on the original script and lyrics, creators Don Harron and Norman Campbell found their correspondence delayed by a full two weeks because the U.S. House Committee on Un-American Activities was monitoring every message—suspicious of all the references to “red” hair and “red” soil. The blend of artistry, coincidence, and bureaucratic misunderstanding never fails to amuse her, and it serves as a reminder of the many unexpected stories that live behind the scenes here.
And while Ashley may not make it to the Art Gallery as often as she’d like, she brings that same curiosity and appreciation for the Centre’s creative legacy into her daily work. Her routine remains simple—just a black coffee, ideally paired with a bit of chocolate—but the impact she brings to the Centre is anything but.
