The Exhibition
This exhibition showcases diverse artworks created by students from across Prince Edward Island and brings together pieces from the ArtsSmarts program and Grade 12 Visual Arts classes, highlighting the creative talents of young artists.
ArtsSmarts, Canada’s largest arts-education initiative, connects students with local artists and artisans to explore creative media and traditional crafts. The artworks reflect the knowledge and skills gained through these collaborations, demonstrating how arts enrich learning and cultural understanding.
The Grade 12 Visual Arts students present over a hundred works exploring themes such as social justice, environment, culture, imagination, and identity. Each artist chooses their medium and style to best express their personal voice—whether bold or subtle, emotional or intellectual. Their work invites viewers to consider questions about truth, culture, and experience through the eyes of these emerging artists.
The public is invited to an opening reception at the gallery Tuesday, April 28, between 6–8 PM.
This exhibition is presented by ArtsSmarts PEI and the Visual Arts Educators Association, in collaboration with the Confederation Centre of the Arts, with support from the Department of Education and Early Years and the Department of Economic Development, Trade and Artificial Intelligence.
