Listening, learning, and finding our way together.
FRIDAY, MAY 23 & SATURDAY, MAY 24, 2025
Canadian issues discussed in the birthplace of Canada, featuring artistic perspectives.
The Charlottetown Forum brings together artists, leaders, and the public to convene for discussions, open learning, and sharing of diverse perspectives on matters of importance to Canada.
With discussions led by artists, field experts, and thought leaders, this second Charlottetown Forum will continue to explore topics that are top of mind for people in Canada, including restoring public discourse, responding to climate change, and improving Canadian healthcare. The inaugural Charlottetown Forum in 2023 featured three panels and post-panel discussions on the topics of immigration, economic reconciliation, and finding shared national narratives in a fractured time.
One of the distinctive features of the Charlottetown Forum is providing a space for these conversations in an arts context. To this end, each discussion includes an artistic or cultural perspective; complementary programming in other areas of the Centre such as the Art Gallery; and artistic interpretations of the discussions through graphic recordings, performances and audience participation workshops.
Each panel will be followed by a facilitated roundtable discussion to increase opportunities for audience engagement and participation, and where participants can continue the conversation with each other and the panellists.
Meeting at Confederation Centre of the Arts next to the site of the 1864 Charlottetown Conference, The Charlottetown Forum is part of the Centre’s wider revitalization plan, which includes the creation of a cultural leadership institute housing new spaces for public discourse, the creation of art, and cultural learning.
