Heritage Tours

Established as a memorial to commemorate the Fathers of Confederation, the Centre has evolved over time into an important space for learning about how this nation was formed, and how our identity continues to evolve. Through our heritage programming, Confederation Centre of the Arts provides an ideal convening place for diverse voices to share perspectives and ideas about Canada. Whether its a more inclusive account of our shared history or wide-ranging perspectives on the country’s potential for the future, the Centre facilitates a deeper understanding of the many identities of Canada.

Heritage Players

For Visitors

An iconic part of a Prince Edward Island summer, the Heritage Players – formerly known as the Confederation Players – remain the gold standard in immersive historical tourism. This award-winning program continues to animate the streets of Charlottetown with high-quality walking tours and experiences that bring the Island’s stories to life. 

For Educators

Add a curriculum-connected history experience to your field trip to the Centre. Your class will explore Charlottetown’s historic core alongside a heritage actor in period costume — stepping into the stories of the people and events that made PEI the birthplace of Confederation. These customizable talks with history experts gives students an immersive, on-location look at Canadian history that goes well beyond the classroom.

The Great George Walking Tour

July – August

  • Days: Monday – Saturday
  • Times: 11:00 AM & 3:00 PM

French Version

  • Days: Wednesdays and Fridays
  • Time: 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Ghost Tours

  • Days: Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays
  • Time: 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM
  • Season: July – November 7, 2026

Seasonal Start Time Note
As the season progresses into September and October, tour start times become earlier due to reduced daylight.
