
Rapper Daniel Butterfield—aka Vince The Messenger—is one of Charlottetown’s newest and most influential musicians in the Island’s hip-hop scene. His award-winning music has been characterized for its philosophical drive and focus on social issues and empowerment. His style carries underlying elements of golden era hip-hop but brings a refreshing, abstract feeling and approach to this familiar sound.
Vince The Messenger took home Urban Recording of the Year at the 2019 Music PEI Awards for his debut full-length album Self Sabotage, and was also nominated for New Artist of the Year. Vince regularly releases new music and plans to continue "spitting out meaningful lyrics and turning heads" (The Buzz).
