The term “Shangri-La” means a place of peace, perfection and happiness. Through the art of dance, the 70 minute dance drama, Shangri-La, delivers a universal message: finding happiness through a balance between the materialistic and spiritual world.
Combining traditional Tibetan dance with modern dance, Shangri-La takes the audience on a journey of life, death, desires, and impermanence. Wanma Jiancuo Dance Troupehas performed Shangri-La more than 200 times worldwide, and has been invited to participate in international art festivals in New York, France, Chicago, Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai and more. In 2016, the sensational dance drama was invited to the le festival d’Avignonin France, one of the biggest and most prestigious performing arts events in the world.
