Shakespearean Theatre and Dance Conditioning

This week will give you the choice to explore Shakespeare or Dance Conditioning. Campers will explore learning elements of dance conditioning or dive into Shakespearean theatre work. Students will choose which focus they prefer on Monday of camp!

10+ years 

Shakespearean Focus:  

The Shakespeare camp would focus on fundamentals of acting through Shakespearean text with different acting/movement-based workshops each day plus group play-building rehearsal time.  Exploring character work, imagery in text, and collaborative play building.    

Dance Conditioning Focus:  

This week will focus on dance classes of various genres and styles with the main focus on conditioning, flexibility, strength, turns and leaps, and other fundamental skills to improve your dance technique. 

Campers with experience or new to theatre and dance are encouraged to attend as the instructors will adjust the content of learning to the campers’ level of knowledge.   

Family Discount

A family discount is applied to households who register for 2 or more summer break camps during the period of July 2 – August 23, 2024.  Please note that students do not need to attend the same camp to receive the discount.

Refund Policy:  Refunds are provided to students providing 2 or more weeks notice of camp withdrawal, participants withdrawing less than two-weeks prior to camp must provide a medical note to be eligible for refunds.

What are Relaxed Performances?


Sometimes referred to as sensory-friendly experiences, Relaxed Performances give the opportunity for those with various sensitivities towards sensory stimuli to experience and enjoy live theatre.

These performances will be designed in a way to be more comfortable for audience members who may experience anxiety or are not comfortable with some aspects of a traditional theatre setting. This can include people on the Autism Spectrum and their families; those with sensory and communicative disorders or learning disabilities; people with Tourette’s syndrome; someone who might need to move often due to chronic pain or to use the facilities; or even parents with toddlers.
