Live at the Centre

A touring artist since age 11, the seven-time Australian Blues Award winner has one of the most unique stories in music. He has sat with the founding fathers of modern blues from Brownie McGhee to Luther Allison and has supported the likes of Ray Charles, Bob Dylan, and Etta James on tour.

His live performance blends jaw-dropping guitar expertise with a commanding voice, powerful songwriting, and storytelling to deliver a complete concert experience, launching him onto theatre and festival stages across the globe.

Lloyd is passionate about promoting the blues scene and mentoring the next generation. He has taken countless young artists under his wing who have since become multi-award-winning performers in their own right. He has been an advocate for blues in Australia, chosen as the ambassador to the Australian Blues Music festival from 2005-2008, as well as ambassador to youth in blues.

Spiegel returns to Canada with his eighth release, Backroads— a hard-edged, personal, and brutally honest account of his life. Backroadsfollows up from his previous albums, which all debuted in the top 10 of the Australian independent music charts and for several months, held the #1 spot on the Australian Blues Chart.

“A revelation, the consummate performer, an Oz Blues & Roots icon.” Rolling Stone

What are Relaxed Performances?

Sometimes referred to as sensory-friendly experiences, Relaxed Performances give the opportunity for those with various sensitivities towards sensory stimuli to experience and enjoy live theatre.

These performances will be designed in a way to be more comfortable for audience members who may experience anxiety or are not comfortable with some aspects of a traditional theatre setting. This can include people on the Autism Spectrum and their families; those with sensory and communicative disorders or learning disabilities; people with Tourette’s syndrome; someone who might need to move often due to chronic pain or to use the facilities; or even parents with toddlers.

Relaxed Performances offered during the 2021 Charlottetown Festival:
