Students from the Media Communications program at Holland College exhibit their work.
Graduating students from the Media Arts programs at Holland College have once again submitted work for their annual exhibition at the Confederation Centre Art Gallery. Students from the Graphic Design, Photography and Digital Imaging, Fundamental Arts, and Video Game Art and Animation programs are featured in the exhibition. “This exhibition culminates two years of hard work for many of the students, and in fact, in many cases, this is their first opportunity to present their work to the public,” says Nigel Roe, instructor with the Graphic Design program. “This can be a daunting task and one of both excitement and trepidation. As creative people we understand that it is the audience that determines the success or failure of creative expression, but it is still a tough thing to do for the first time.”
This year the participating students have been given the opportunity to move the exhibition into the formal gallery setting after four years showcasing their work in the lower level display cases. This has presented some unique challenges and opportunities in dealing with a much larger space.
