When Dutch Mason’s regular harmonica player is sidelined with illness, David Bedford, a Political Science professor and amateur harp player, is recruited to join Dutch and his band on a historic road trip that will shock Bedford out of his self-prescribed life of buttoned-down conformity. From the cramped quarters of Dutch’s rooming house in Truro, Nova Scotia, to the spacious back seat of his ’95 Cadillac Eldorado, where he holds court, Dave soon learns that it is in the smoky spotlight that Dutch Mason’s true genius is revealed. The authenticity of his music is a product of Dutch’s own life experience.
A road trip like no other! Plays at the intimate cabaret-style theatre, The Mack.
Based on the non-fiction book “On the Road with Dutch Mason” by David Bedford and Harvey Sawler
