Join us for Culture Days at Confederation Centre of the Arts.
Visual Arts | Heritage | Dance | Theatre | Crafts
  • Mi’kmaq Confederacy Drum Circle
    Memorial Hall |  12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
    “Join us to kick off our Culture Days On Beat celebration with a drum circle performed by the Mi’kmaq Confederacy of PEI.  Enjoy stories, songs, and dancing led by Julie Pellissier-Lush.”
  • Marlene Creates: Places, Paths, and Pauses Tour
    Visual Arts — Talks and Discussion  |  1:00 p.m. – 1:20 p.m. | 1:30 p.m. – 1:50 p.m.|  2:00 p.m. – 2:20 p.m. | 2:30 p.m. – 2:50 p.m.
    Our current exhibition, Places, Paths, and Pauses, presents the work of prominent Newfoundland-based environmental artist and poet Marlene Creates.  Join Will Hobbs, Confederation Centre Art Galley Docent, as he takes you on an informative 20 minute tour of this beautiful exhibition.
  • Victorian Games with the Confederation Players
    Heritage — Talks and Discussion, Hands-On Activity  | 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    Join the Confederation Players on the upper lawn, found between Victoria Row and the Amphitheatre, for a friendly game of horse shoes and croquet.
  • Build your own Country 
    Heritage — Hands-On Activity, Talks and Discussion  |  1:30 p.m. – 1:55 p.m.   |   2:00 p.m. – 2:25 p.m.
    Explore the Chamber and then help build a country with a Father of Confederation Player! The interactive group activity explores the ins and outs of what goes into creating a brand new country!
  • Dance Umbrella: Intro to Jazz
    Dance — Hands-On Activity  |  1:30 p.m. – 1:50 p.m.
    Join us in Studio 2 for a 20 minute jazz dance umbrella class lead by Taryn Kristalovich. Participants, aged 6-13, are asked to come in clothing that allows free movement. Claim one of the 20 spots available by registering with Ellen at etheuerkauf@confederationcentre.com.
  • Dance Umbrella: Intro to Contemporary
    Dance — Hands-On Activity  | 2:00 p.m. – 2:20 p.m.
    Join us in Studio 2 for a 20 minute contemporary dance umbrella class lead by Taryn Kristalovich. Participants, aged 6-13, are asked to come in clothing that allows free movement.
  • Make Wearable Art with Kate Sharpley
    Maker Culture, Crafts — Hands-On Activity  |  3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
    Design, create and make some wearable art at Schurman Family Studio! Celebrate Culture Days with a fun activity for children and adults: Button Pins! Maximum of 40 people can attend. Please contact Ellen @ etheuerkauf@confederationcentre.com to register.
  • Intro to Elementary Musical Theatre
    Theatre — Hands-On Activity |  3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    Come join us in the Mawson Rehearsal Hall for an introduction to dance umbrella’s Elementary Musical Theatre class.
  • Signatures: A Canadian Spectacle Under the Stars
    New/Digital Media — Virtual Activity |  10:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
    Join us on Library Plaza in historic downtown Charlottetown for a free and family-friendly multimedia experience.
