Choral Music Programme: Sing Noël

| Trinity United Church
The Confederation Centre Youth Chorus make merry, performing classical and contemporary Christmas carols together alongside guest artist, Charlottetown’s own Joey Kitson.

Joey Kitson is one of Atlantic Canada’s favourite singers. The versatile vocalist is equally at home singing Celtic ballads, soulful rhythm and blues, big band jazz or mannered musical theatre. As the charismatic frontman for the band Rawlins Cross, Joey has toured through North America, Chile, and Europe, collected numerous music industry awards and helped sell truckloads of albums. He also has sung with the great Doug “Dr. Music” Riley, finding yet another outlet for his impressive musical sensibility.

Over the past decade, Kitson has also maintained another career, performing musical theatre at Confederation Centre in The Charlottetown Festival. He has appeared many times on the storied stage, beginning with a production of Bye, Bye Birdie while still a high school student. His stage credits include Jesus Christ Superstar, British Invasion, A Matter of Heart, the blockbuster Canada ROCKS! and the timeless Anne Of Green Gables—The Musical™.

What are Relaxed Performances?

Sometimes referred to as sensory-friendly experiences, Relaxed Performances give the opportunity for those with various sensitivities towards sensory stimuli to experience and enjoy live theatre.

These performances will be designed in a way to be more comfortable for audience members who may experience anxiety or are not comfortable with some aspects of a traditional theatre setting. This can include people on the Autism Spectrum and their families; those with sensory and communicative disorders or learning disabilities; people with Tourette’s syndrome; someone who might need to move often due to chronic pain or to use the facilities; or even parents with toddlers.

Relaxed Performances offered during the 2021 Charlottetown Festival:
  • I agree to receive further communications from Confederation Centre of the Arts for upcoming events, promotions and market research purposes.
