Join Juno-nominated singer-songwriter and beloved Prince Edward Islander, Tara MacLean, as she takes you on her musical journey home. A gifted vocalist, performer, and storyteller, Tara explores the deep roots of the Atlantic Canadian music scene, breathing new life and emotion into treasured songs from such East Coast legends as Gene MacLellan, Gordie Sampson, Sarah MacLachlan, Stan Rogers, The Rankin Family, Rita MacNeil, and many more.
Adam Brazier and Confederation Centre are thrilled to welcome Tara MacLean’s ode to Canada’s East Coast to The Charlottetown Festival after two successful seasons at The Guild. In this musical celebration of songwriters, Tara explores the place and people behind iconic anthems like ‘Sonny’s Dream’, ‘Put Your Hand in the Hand’, ‘Fare Thee Well Love’, and many others. The enchanting performer and her brilliant cast pay homage to those fellow musicians who found a way to create beauty from the challenging experiences in their own lives.
In concert with the Centre’s artistic team and with the new addition of company members from The Charlottetown Festival and orchestra, alongside her ace band of Island musicians, Tara’s new production will make every Atlantic Canadian proud. Join them in the intimate cabaret theatre, The Mack.
This inspiring show reveals the power of songwriting and one woman’s journey home.
