The Stage Is Set For ‘Comfort & Joy’ This Holiday Season

– Confederation Centre Dec. 20 concert features Tara MacLean, Catherine MacLellan, Kinley Dowling,

Vince the Messenger, Mi’kmaq Heritage Actors, Adam Brazier, and many more! –

Islanders and patrons everywhere are invited to enjoy the holiday event of the season this December. Confederation Centre of the Arts is proud to present Comfort & Joy, an old-fashioned holiday variety show featuring some of Atlantic Canada’s finest entertainers.

Co-created by Artistic Director Adam Brazier and co-starring Tara MacLean, Catherine MacLellan, and Kinley Dowling, Comfort & Joy will ring in the holiday season in style on December 20 at 8 p.m., live from the Mainstage at Confederation Centre. The Sobeys LIVE @ the Centre concert promises to dazzle with seasonal numbers, live dance, and plenty of Island celebration. Special thanks are extended to production sponsor Maritime Electric.

All three headliners will perform holiday songs and will be joined by a selection of stunning guest talent. These include Brazier himself, honey-voiced R&B singer Kierrah Celeste, a stirring performance from the Mi’kmaq Heritage Actors, Gia Kierrah, Megan Broome, and many more.

The performance will also be available to view from the comfort and joy of your couch or bedroom, as it will be live-streamed. For just $20, patrons can sip hot chocolate at home and take in a feel-good family concert featuring more than 20 artists, live from the Centre.

Due to distancing and seating limitations, there are less than 300 tickets available for Comfort & Joy, and organizers expect the in-person seats to sell out quickly To book now, for live-stream or in-person concert, visit confederationcentre.com, contact 902.566.1267, or visit the box office in person.

“Needless to say this has been a hard year for everyone, and we’re all due for some great live music and holiday cheer!” says Steve Bellamy, CEO of Confederation Centre. “It is so exciting to be hosting concerts and events again, and whether you wish to enjoy this concert at home or in the big room in person, we hope you’ll join us for a wonderful night of songs, spirit, and community.”

Additional features of this glittery variety show include a ballet performance of The Nutcracker; an all-star live band led by Music Director Natalie Williams Calhoun with Morgan Saulnier and Alan Dowling; and a live on-stage reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas, featuring a VERY special Island guest.
