– Program includes award-winning musicians, an acrobatic circus, and more –
December 16, 2021 – After a successful run of fall and holiday performances, Confederation Centre of the Arts announced the second half of its LIVE @ the Centre 2021-2022 lineup. This slate of shows will run from January until May and feature acclaimed artists from across Canada.
“The season got off to an incredible start, and we are thrilled to be welcoming patrons back to our venues at full capacity,” says Darcy Campbell, director of LIVE @ the Centre.
Introduced at the top of the season, the Centre will continue Frontline & Centre – a program that pays tribute to Islanders who have shown incredible courage through the pandemic. Frontline workers can continue to enter a draw to win complimentary tickets by visiting confederationcentre.com.
The program kicks off on January 19 with JUNO Award winner Bahamas on his North American tour. Several artists from Atlantic Canada will also hit the stage, including folk jazz musician David Myles, reggae royalty Jah’Mila, and P.E.I.’s The Logan Richard Band.
The season will have dance performances from Ballet Kelowna, Confederation Centre’s own dance umbrella, and Bromance by Barely Methodical Troupe – an experimental acrobatic circus company.
French programming will include a concert from Haitian-born musician Wesli and the show Franco fière | Franco Proud by Island artists Josée Boudreau and Réjean Cournoyer.
For the young and young at heart, there is family programming featuring Islander Silly Robbie and famed children’s music performer Fred Penner, who is celebrating the 40th anniversary of his album The Cat Came Back.
“When you look at our list of performers this season, you will see familiar favourites and new acts you are sure to fall in love with,” says Campbell. “With an eclectic mix of music, dance, comedy, and more – there is something for everyone in this lineup.”
For the full LIVE @ the Centre lineup, visit confederationcentre.com, or look for the insert in the February edition of The Buzz.
