Music continues to be a pillar of the LIVE @ the Centre program, with this year’s lineup featuring internationally-acclaimed performer Jeremy Dutcher, Juno Award-winning folk artist Donovan Woods, and jazz crooner Matt Dusk with his Frank Sinatra tribute show.

There will also be performances from several Maritime favourites, including an intimate evening of storytelling and song from Tara MacLean, an EP release show with The East Pointers, and holiday concerts from Matt Andersen and Lennie Gallant.

Beyond comedy and music, LIVE @ the Centre will feature a contemporary circus performance from FLIP Fabrique, an Indigenous storytelling and dance piece from the Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada, and a one-woman show from New York City icon Candace Bushnell – the international best-selling novelist and creator of Sex and the City.

“We are thrilled to be presenting another eclectic lineup of entertainment to the Island,” says Darcy Campbell, director of LIVE @ the Centre. “When you look at our list of performers this season, you will see familiar favourites and new acts you are sure to fall in love with. There is truly something for everyone.”

What are Relaxed Performances?

Sometimes referred to as sensory-friendly experiences, Relaxed Performances give the opportunity for those with various sensitivities towards sensory stimuli to experience and enjoy live theatre.

These performances will be designed in a way to be more comfortable for audience members who may experience anxiety or are not comfortable with some aspects of a traditional theatre setting. This can include people on the Autism Spectrum and their families; those with sensory and communicative disorders or learning disabilities; people with Tourette’s syndrome; someone who might need to move often due to chronic pain or to use the facilities; or even parents with toddlers.
