The Exhibition
Scots have migrated all over the world and have often had a profound impact on the areas where they settled. This project brought together stories from many communities that have documented their Scottish connections in more than 300 embroidered panels. Thirty-seven panels were done in Canada and five of those were done by Islanders of Scottish descent. Forty-three stitchers from across the Island took part in completing the Island panels.
The exhibition is a remarkable and heart-felt homage to the determination, courage and achievement of Scottish migrants and their descendants across the centuries.
Scottish Diaspora is organized and circulated by Prestoungrange Arts Festival with the support of the PEI Scottish Settlers Historical Society Inc. and the Community Cultural Partnership Program.
