Calling all choristers! This camp is for singers with previous musical, vocal, and/or choral experience who are interested in taking their skills to the next level both as individuals and members of a musical ensemble. Campers will rehearse a selection of choral repertoire in a variety of styles, such as pop, musical theatre, traditional, and more, through engaging and energizing rehearsal techniques and activities.
We will work as a team to improve skills in vocal technique and expression, choral ensemble and performance, and music literacy and ear training. The experience will culminate in a concert-style performance for family and friends!
Registration for this camp is by audition for youth ages 10-18. Once registered to save an audition spot, prospective choristers will be contacted with more information regarding the audition process and other next steps.
Audition Requirements
Brief Director-led vocal warm-up and range check.
Sing the traditional round “Dona Nobis Pacem” (score provided in advance) in singer’s choice of lower or higher key.
Sing a brief (1-2 min) song or excerpt of choice, in any style, that the singer feels comfortable singing unaccompanied.
Audition Location and Booking
Each 15-minute audition will be scheduled by appointment with the Choral Director and will take place in the Choir Room on the second floor of the Mack theatre building, 128 Great George St. Charlottetown.
