Sensory-Friendly Performance
Also known as relaxed performances, these performances are designed to make theatre spaces more welcoming for audience members who may experience anxiety, are sensory-sensitive, or are not comfortable with the conventions of a theatre setting. Sensory-friendly performances can benefit a wide variety of patrons, including those who are neurodiverse, pregnant people, nursing parents, seniors, people with service animals, or anyone who has sensitivity to stimuli.
Pay-What-You-Wish Performance
This special performance is also offered on a ‘Pay What You Wish’ basis, giving you the flexibility to contribute what feels right. When purchasing, there are a range of suggested contributions to help us sustain our mission and bring more of these performances to life.
About Tell Tale Harbour
Deep in the heart of Atlantic Canada sits a small harbour losing hope. The once bountiful fishing village is struggling to survive, and half the population is relocating to the mainland for better opportunities. The community is looking for a miracle when an opportunity arises to bring a state-of-the-art frozen french fry facility to town. There’s just one major obstacle – to secure the factory, the harbour must have a full-time resident doctor. Realizing this might be their last chance to save their beloved community, the townspeople come together to charm an interim doctor into moving there permanently.
Tell Tale Harbour returns to The Charlottetown Festival after its triumphant world premiere in 2022 with a newly reworked production. Based on the screenplay The Grand Seduction by Ken Scott, this musical comedy celebrates the people, the trials, and the triumphs of living in a small community in Atlantic Canada. Co-written by, and starring music icon Alan Doyle, the story of Tell Tale Harbour is as relatable as it is ridiculous, as hilarious as it is heartfelt, and full of East Coast pride.
